We have decided to launch two new and exciting handmade card ranges during June.

The two new card ranges are:

‘Stitch in Time’ a range of special age birthday cards, from age 1 to 100! These cards will be available in both Large & small card format and for both male & females. All cards are embellished with a 3D board piece, set on foam, and include a variety of buttons! As usual for Laura Sherratt Designs cards, all are printed on heavy weight board, sourced from The Lake District. They certainly offer great value for money.

‘Favourite Things’ a range of 18 general birthday cards, these come available in two sizes. All are handmade and embellished with a 3D tag, set on foam as well as rustic ribbon bows, sourced from a UK manufacturer.

but I have finally found a few minutes to update our blog!

Since November the 1st, life at Laura Sherratt Designs has changed dramatically! Well it has for me anyway, with the arrival of my first baby, little Daisy Olive!

She is the most amazing little girl now at 5 months old, and we love her very much indeed, but, things were much harder than we ever imagined! Our lives have turned upside down!!

Sally has been looking after the running of the studio on a day to day basis for me. Sally is an absolute star and the business just would not run so smoothly without her! Sally definitely has many skills that I don’t! Such as fabulous organisational skills! She is far less chaotic than me, that is for sure!! She even lends a hand with Daisy when I do manage to visit the card studio!

As this year progresses you will be seeing many new designs from me, with an aim to launch these at Autumn Fair in September! Keep you eyes peeled for these new card ranges and I promise to update our blog more often!

WOW–Nomination for Most Promising Young Designer 2012!

Well its been a while since I (Laura) had chance to update my blog but I could resist this morning! When I came into the studio to such fabulous news! I am sooooo proud to be up for this award for the second year running and it has really made my sunny day just perfect!

There are 15 free to enter product categories which are open to all UK greeting card companies, as well as three special awards: Most Promising Young Designer or Artist; Best Service to the Independent Retailer and the Honorary Achievement Award. All entries to the product categories are judged by an independent panel of esteemed retail buyers. Entry forms are distributed in the May edition of Progressive Greetings.

The awards, first introduced in 1996, are named after Sir Henry Cole, who produced the first commercial Christmas cards over 150 years ago. He was also the first curator of the V&A museum, a pioneer of the Penny Post and instrumental in the organisation of the Great Exhibition.

I know it is only April and we haven’t even had any sunshine yet, but our lovely stockists are already keen to order their Handmade Christmas card stock now for delivery later in the year!

We have had our card designs printed and waiting in our Barn studio for a few weeks but our embellishments hadn’t arrived. Now they have Sally is busily decorating them to send out to all our Sales Agents across the country.
